I'd recommend my fellow G!Sers (gisers- those who game on G1S/G-series) to use DOX's drivers for GTA IV. As for the version number, there is a reason they bring out a new version of a driver. I'd go for the latest version. If you see any problem, you can always roll-back.
Here you can find DOX's drivers:
Dox's Customized Forceware Releases

Hey,

I've been playing Age of Conan for a week on the Asus G1SN.
But I find the performance very bad..
When I put the game in 1024x768 res and graphics on low I get a framerate of 15fps.

Anyone else have any experience with AoC on the Asus ?

Note: I haven't downloaded the modified display drivers yet.
I'm planning on downloading the drivers tonight from: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista

I also found a small posting that should allow a fps of : 25 to 40 by changing only 3 settings in the graphics configuration.
I'll update the posting asap :D

Hi folks,

Personally I'm pleased to say that all the games I've played on my G1S perform really well with most (if not all) the graphic features and resolution (that depends on the game) being Crysis the most intensive (or badly coded) game of them all.

However, I can play Crysis at 1280x800 with all set to medium specs and get an average of 25 fps, which is not bad for a sub $1500 dollar machine right?

Games like Half Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 and Portal I can play them in full resolution (1680x1050) with all set to the highest settings at a very comfortable 30 FPS!

Call of Duty 4 is another example of a nice game on the Asus G1S, which in my experience was capable of playing it at 1280x800 full effects at about 30 FPS too.

What are your experiences so far?

I'm hoping that Alan Wake will play smooth on the G1S too… Here's hoping. :)

Cheers!
Rayan
