The update worked well except when I got to the video card installation the computer kept getting an error, saying it could not copy file/ find file something like this? It asked me if I wanted to proceed without this file, I canceled the first time and tried to reinstall but got the same errors. Then I tried to proceed without the files it could not install and another error came up and so on. I then read on this site somewhere to go into the device manager the and update the video drivers this way. So I did and only received one error but continued anyway. It worked but seems I cant adjust the size and I am sure the icons are as small as they can be. There could be other problems with it under heavy video demand but I do not have a game to put it to the test. Now, I have a question mark in device manager beside PCI Memory Controller. Any help I would appreciate. Thanks in advance!

Please add this to the Updated drivers section.

I noticed that the card reader would not read 8Gb micro SDHC cards (with adapter) with the ASUS Ricoh Drivers…

An updated driver can be found here: http://www.fmworld.net/download/E1007029/E1007029.exe
Or for the sketchy types that don't trust .exe's — the drivers ONLY can be found here: http://www.antifart.com/stuff/Ricoh%20R5C8xx%20Drivers%20ONLY.zip

Ok, I just found out that the Santa Rosa technology does not support 800MHz memory (even though the chipset supports 800MHz fsb)…
I bought 667MHz HyperX low-latency ram by Kingston now, hopefully it runs correctly (on the Kingston website is only written that the ordinary value-ram modules are supported by the G1S notebook)…

Hey Guys!

I bought a 4GB Kit PC2-6400 800MHz Memory by OCZ and installed it in my G1S (T7700). It's currently running with 667MHz and I do not know how to increase it to 800MHz. I could not change it in the BIOS (Version 300) where it should usually be possible to do so…
Does anybody of you have an idea or knows at least where to find it out?

Cheers

unnamed

hi. very nice guide. very easy to follow. just one problem I'm running windows xp sp3 and there were errors when I tried to install the hotfixes.
it said that "setup has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying". Can i get a little help here. tnx.. im kinda noob at this. Maybe there are updated hotfixes for sp3? tnx

Sorry for the post, I just recently read that all the hotfixes here are already included in windows xp sp3. Hope this helps. tnx again… keep up the good work
